ODE
Attempted in the Horatian Style,
To the ingenious Mr. Th---s G--df--y. By Mr. ------ ,
MAT to HAL.
   I.
While you, dear Hal, are forc'd to roam
In search of fortune, far from home,
O'er bogs, o'er seas and mountains,
I, too, debarr'd the soft retreat
Of shady groves, and murmer sweet
Of silver prattling fountains,
. . . [seven stanzas in all]
